Bibles Net. Com - More on God's Salvation

As a diligent student of the Bible, you will want to make sure the Bible really says what each study on this site or any site says.  Always remember to prove all things with God's word - as the Bereans did, according to Acts 17:11.  They "received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so."

Spiritual Baseball
This illustration was designed to communicate Lordship salvation to a generation that has
been taught that believing there is a God is the same as true Faith and Repentance.

Becoming a Christian can be compared to hitting a home run in the game of Baseball.
The Bible teaches that the game of life starts with the score: hell - one and heaven - zero in
regards to our salvation and how we enter this world (Rom 3:23). In the Bible, this is known
as man's "sin problem.” If you are reading this illustration or hearing it, you have an
opportunity to remedy this sin problem by hitting a spiritual home run.

In the game of baseball, we must know the rules to compete successfully and win.
This is also true with our spiritual life. Suppose a batter did not know the rules of baseball,
and after hitting the ball and reaching first base he began to shout "home run!" while standing
on first base. Everyone would think he was a fool. This is often the case in regards to our
spiritual life. For example, someone goes to church and has an emotional experience without
a basic intellectual understanding of the person and work of Christ. Nor do they truly place
faith in Christ and repent of their sin. This would be the same as the person who would stand
on first base and scream "home run!”. Though sincere, this person would not have scored a
home run and would be “sincerely wrong" in regards to their relationship with God. An
emotional experience without a basic intellectual understanding of the person and work of
Christ and a surrendered will is insufficient to enter into saving faith.

Now, let an intellectual understanding of the person of Christ represent second base.
Another might hit the ball so to speak, and cross first base, heading for second. Upon
reaching second he might again begin to stand on the bag and scream "home run!". This too
would be inaccurate because it takes more than emotions, or intellect to hit a home run
spiritually.

Let third base represent the will. A decision for Christ is required to receive Him.
Some would say or believe that to give intellectual assent to Christianity or God would be
enough to experience saving faith. Mark 1:15 teaches that we must repent and believe to
become children of God. Someone may reach third base with emotions and intellect satisfied
but still possess reluctance to place faith in Christ to be the controller of their life. This
leaves them stranded at third base without biblical grounds for true saving faith.

In Luke 18:18, we see the story of the “Rich Young Ruler.” In this story, Jesus clearly
teaches it is necessary to say to Christ "anything, anytime, anywhere." This is the heart
indication that we have truly come to Christ with a surrendered will, and therefore have
spiritually hit a "home run." Then and only then does the score actually change to
Heaven - one and Hell -zero.

Reader, would you have more faith? Then seek to become more acquainted with
Jesus Christ. Study your blessed Saviour more and more, and strive to know more
of the length and breadth and height of His love. Study Him in all His offices, as
the Priest, the Physician, the Redeemer, the Advocate, the Friend, the Teacher, the
Shepherd of His believing people. Study Him as one who not only died for you, but
is also living for you at the right hand of God,—as one who not only shed His blood
for you, but daily intercedes for you at the right hand of God,—as one who is soon
coming again for you, and will stand once more on this earth. The believer who is thoroughly acquainted with the fullness of Jesus Christ, is the believer who travels from grace to glory with
the greatest comfort and peace.
I commend these things to your attention.

_________________________________________________________________

Also, I have a measure of God's grace upon my life,I am redeemed. I know it. God's Presence is with me ALL the time. I know it. God's blessings 'move' things in life for me. I know it, praise God.

Adulterers and fornicators know no such comfort. It is not present with them. Those who
are married but commit adultery do not have such intimacy with their spouses. (There
may be a modicum of closeness, but not the intimacy I am talking about.) It can't be had
with a secret sin in the heart. In addition, there is a deep awareness of being personally
WRONG before God! Such people do not know the restful peace that comes from being
right with God.

The grace of God in the forgiveness of our sins can fix a guilty conscience! Hebrews
8:12: "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities
will I remember no more." We must repent and ask God for it.

If we want God's blessings in this life, and in the world to come, we can freely receive
them. Jesus said: "He that comes to Me, I will in no wise cast out." John 6:37. Yes, the
worst of sins can be forgiven. Come to Jesus!

If you want to know and be sure that you born again, you can be sure by doing exactly
what Romans 10:9 says: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Simply say with your mouth, believing in your heart that God has raised Jesus Christ
from the dead; "I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ IS my Lord: I believe in my
heart that God has raised Him from the dead. Now, Oh, God, since you can't lie, and I
have done what you said in Your Word, I believe that I am saved. Thank you, Heavenly
Father for saving me. Amen."

If you sincerely did that, you ARE saved (born again) right now according to God's
Word! Praise God. God bless you. Now commit yourself to follow Jesus every day, by
doing what His Word teaches about living for Him. Read your Bible every day, and pray
(talk) to the Lord every day. Be thankful to Him, and tell Him so! Ask Him to help you
develop a Godly marriage, if you are already married. If you are not yet married, then
begin now to ask Him to help you choose the spouse that will be a blessing to you by His
grace. Amen.

_________________________________________________________________

And now, dear reader, if you have never received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Savior,
you are outside of the blessed salvation which Jesus purchased for us with His Blood.
You are cut off from God because of your sins, and you are lost, on your way to eternity
in the Lake Of Fire, as noted in Revelation 20:12-15. But you can change that fact! The
Scripture says: "Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." See
Romans 10:13.
Romans 10:9 tells us exactly HOW to be saved. It states: "That if thou shalt confess with
thy mouth, the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from
the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Simply DO what it says! Say with your mouth, "Jesus Christ IS my Lord. In my heart I
DO believe that God has raised Him from the dead. Now, Lord Jesus, I open my heart to
you, come into my heart, my Lord". And then thank God for saving you. By His grace,
through your faith, you ARE NOW saved if you were sincere and believed when you
prayed the above prayer. Praise God. Forsake your sins, and begin to follow the Lord
Jesus as your Savior. Tell others about Him, and invite them also to do what you have
just done. Read your Bible every day. Pray to God, and thank Him, and trust in Him. Find
a good, Bible believing Church, where they teach the Word of God, and will help you to
come to know the Lord Jesus Christ better, and how to follow Him according to His
Word. God bless you.

Five Requirements for God’s Salvation

1. God Cannot Let Sin Go Unpunished

We see by these Scriptures-and many more which we could give you-that God cannot simply
forgive sinners and let their sins go unpunished, because His justice is displayed by the
vindication of His righteousness in the punishment of sin. Look at these Scriptures: Exodus 34:7,
“[He] will by no means clear the guilty”; and Psalm 5:5, “Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.” It
is not a little dislike, but a thorough hatred which God bears for workers of iniquity. To be hated
of God is an awful thing! It is an awful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God, because our
God is a consuming fire (Deuteronomy 4:24, Hebrews 12:29). Look at Romans 2:5-6:
“But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasures up unto thyself wrath against the
day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; who will render to every man
according to his deeds.”
Therefore we see from Scripture that the justice and righteousness of God demand that sin be
punished. And the penalty for sin is death, eternal death in the lake of fire, banished forever from
God’s presence.
God said to Adam (Genesis 2:17), “For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely
die.” And die he did, for “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23)-death in the lake of fire,
banished forever from God’s presence. Either you and I as sinners must be punished unto death,
forever lost and doomed and damned in hell, or a suitable substitute must be found who would be
able to bear the full punishment of our sin.

2. There Must Be a Substitute
If God is to be just and the Justifier of sinners (Romans 3:26), and is to bestow upon us the
salvation spoken of in our text, then a perfect and proper substitute must be found. This
substitute, having no sin of his own, would be able to bear the full punishment of sin in the place
of those to whom punishment is due. And that includes all of us, for we have all sinned and come
short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

3. Only God Could Be the Substitute
This brings us back to the great truth of the Bible and to the truth of our text concerning the
salvation of God for poor sinners, and the imputing of His perfect righteousness to their account
in heaven, so they can stand before Him with their sin-debt paid in full. Only God Himself could
be the perfect and proper substitute to atone for the sins of His people, to completely satisfy the
vindication of His justice and righteousness, and thus render those who believe acceptable in His
sight. According to Hebrews 10:4, no animal sacrifice could do it. According to Hebrews 2:14-
16, no angelic sacrifice could do it. According to Psalm 49:7-8, no human sinner (and we are all
sinners) could make atonement for his fellow sinners’ sin. Listen to how Scripture reads:
“None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth forever).”
The Scriptures point out clearly that if any man is to be saved, it was necessary for God in
Christ, His Son, to assume a human nature in order to atone for sin. This was so God Himself
could satisfy His own demands upon sin and justify freely the sinner who believes in and upon
Christ.
The questions is asked, Did He whom the Scriptures declare to be “holy, harmless, undefiled,
separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens” (Hebrews 7:26) assume a human
nature, in order to atone for the sin of His people, and thereby provide for the vindication of the
justice and righteousness of God, by being punished for their sins? The answer is found in
Hebrews 2:14-18 in these words:
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise
took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death,
that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject
to bondage. For verily He took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the
seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His
brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to
make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself hath suffered being
tempted, He is able to succor them that are tempted.”

4. The Substitute Must Be Sinless
Also, the Scripture declares that the sinlessness of the substitute, Christ Jesus the Lord, was
necessary, for sin was to be laid upon Him who knew no sin. This great truth is brought out
forcefully in 2 Corinthians 5:21: “For He [God] hath made Him [Christ] to be sin for us, who
knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him [Christ].”

5. Christ Alone Could Satisfy God’s Demands
Romans 3:24-26 states that the death of Christ was necessary because it alone could satisfy
the demands of God’s justice and righteousness:
“Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom
God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His
righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to
declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just and the justifier of him
which believeth in Jesus.”
In order to be just and at the same time justify poor sinners, God had to vindicate His justice
and His righteousness by the death of the sinner’s substitute, none other than God’s only
begotten Son, Jesus Christ Himself, the only perfect and proper substitute who could die in the
place of poor sinners. And what amazes me and makes me shout for joy-Glory! Glory! Glory!-is
that God freely gave His Son, and His Son freely came to be that perfect substitute for His poor
sinful people. So Isaiah 53:10, 4-5 was written and thus carried out in time by the Father and the
Son to produce in the Gospel this gracious and glorious salvation, which is given to poor sinners
who believe and trust in Christ, who turn from themselves, their ways, and their works, and cast
themselves by faith upon Christ:
“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him [Christ]: He hath put Him to grief: when Thou
shall make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see of His seed, He shall prolong His days,
and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand... Surely He hath borne our griefs,
and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities:
